Favorite things...

I took some pictures of Mason today with some of his favorite things. In the first one, Mason and his chunky monkey were on the activity center and rolled all the way to where he is. He was proud of himself!
Mason loves his chunky monkey. Mason grabs him and immediately puts him in his mouth. Chunky monkey needs a bath!

Giving daddy a kiss.
Now that Mason is not swaddled he loves a blanket close to his face. Love those big blue eyes!

Mason is reaching out to give a hug.
Daddy helping him out a little bit.

My favorite of the day.

We survived...

We survived our first week of day care, and by we, I mean Craig and I. Taking him to day care was much harder than I ever thought it would be. Not that I don' t trust they are taking great care of him, but I would rather be the one spending the day with him. Everyday I can't wait to go pick him up!

Mason just loves it. He still isn't sleeping much but he will adjust. He falls asleep everyday when he gets home. There are 6 boys and 1 girl in his class, and he loves playing with other little kids. His teachers are wonderful, and love on our sweet boy.

This week was filled with a lot of first. He is now taking a big boy bath in the tub. He sat up for the first time which we captured on video. Also, he is done with his swaddle. Last night, I went in to check on him about 2 (since he had been asleep since 6:30) and he had managed to roll over on his stomach with the zipper of his swaddle on his back. No idea how that happened, but I know it meant we were done being being swaddled. Now that he is rolling over at night, he needs to have his hands free!

Mason also doesn't like sweet foods. He would rather have vegetables. He loves peas!

My first big boy bath. I love to splash in the tub and try to grab the water coming out of the faucet.

Welcome to Masonville...

I remember being told countless times that your house will be over taken by baby stuff. In my mind I thought, I can make it work and not have baby stuff everywhere. If you have been to our house since Mason has been born, you know that I was wrong. You know having a baby has changed my life when I have compromised design, and made a section of our coffee room just for Mason. We call it Masonville, and it was the best idea. It might not match our browns, golds, and reds and makes our living room a little more crowded than I would like, but Mason just loves it. He can roll around and play with all of his toys.... a little bit of heaven for a 5 month old.

5 months...

Time flies when you are having fun! Mason is 5 months old, and unfortunately this is my last week at home with him. I start back to school on Monday, and I am so sad. I know it will be harder for me than him. He loves other babies and I know he will have so much fun. I am going to miss my baby!

Mason loves to roll over both ways, is in a size 3 diaper, still has to be swaddled, since starting to eat solids he doesn't believe in naps ( we are working on that:-), he loves to jump in his jumperoo, can go anywhere and with anyone, went to his first birthday party this weekend, loves other kids, gets mad when he can't move where he wants to, wants to be independant and feed himself and is always happy!

Sweet Potatoes...

I never thought trying to figure out what solid food to start Mason on would be so difficult. Fruits then vegetables or vegtables than fruits.... so many different ideas on how to introduce solids. I read quite a bit and finally decided on sweet potatoes. He loves them!!! I let him play when we were done!

Mr. Independent wants to try to feed himself.
All done!
