Daddy Time..

A while back we had to teach Mason that when he wanted alone time with one of us (usually daddy), he would say, "Mommy, it is daddy time" rather than, "Mommy get out of here."  He is now very good about being polite about it. This morning we told him that when he woke up from his nap he could paint... one of his absolute favorite things to do.  I am the one that always paints with him, but tonight he said he wanted to paint with daddy. I went outside to show Craig where all the paints were, and he said mommy, "It's daddy time!!" Very adament about painting with daddy.

Micah was already down for the night as she got all of her 6 month shots this afternoon, so I took the opportunity to run to HEB for a couple of things. You know you are a mom of little ones when you get excited about going to HEB by yourself, and even find it enjoyable. I obviously need to get out more! All that to say, I come home to see this! I can see why he chose daddy to paint with. Painting with daddy is so much more fun!!! What fun memories...

Cutest Pumpkin Ever...

Couldn't wait to share some pictures of the " cutest pumpkin ever!" I am sure one day she will say, " Mom, I can't believe you made me do that!", but that's what happens when you're mom is a photographer.

Fun day...

Today was such a fun day. I got to photograph the family of some of our dear friends! Every time I have a photo session, I am reminded how much I love taking pictures! Then the Aggies won, and it was such a fun game to watch. The only thing better would be to actually have seen it in person.

After the kid's naps, we took the kids to the pumpkin patch festival in Helotes, and had an awesome time. Aunt Jamie was able to join us for our adventure, and it was so great to see her. Mason got to jump in the bounce houses, pet the animals, and ride the train. Then said he was ready to go because he was hungry. He never says that so it was time to go and end the day with some burgers at Bobby J's. Loved our family day!

Mutual Love...

These two are crazy about each other. The other morning Mason was coming down the stairs and for once Micah was awake before him. He heard her and started running down the stairs saying, " Good morning Micah Pretties... Don't worry I am awake!" And he just showered her with kisses. Usually he is up first and when he hears her in the monitor, he drops everything he is doing and runs up stairs to get his Micah. Of coarse, with mommy right behind. He even told me, " Mommy it is Micah time! Bye bye!" Would be great if sweet boy wouldn't try to hug ( meaning sit) on her all the time. I pray daily that Mason continues to love his sister like he does now, and that the feeling is mutual!

From these set of pictures, you can see how birth order might shape the personality of a child. In Micah's short 6 months of life, she has been "loved" on every way possible and multiple times a day... meaning hugged, sat on, smashed, kicked ( on accident) and even biten a couple of times ( on purpose). Something a 1st child never experiences. You can tell by Micah's expressions that it doesn't bother her one bit. She just takes her brother's "loving". She just lights up when he is around.

Love this one... you can see Mason in the background doing who knows what, and Micah is just smiling away.

Pumpkin Patch ( Take 2)

After editing the last pictures of Micah, I decided to take her back to the pumpkin patch to try to get her smiling. She truly is the happiest baby but was so tired and hungry when I took the first set of pictures. This afternoon she was much more interested in the cars and enjoying the beautiful weather than smiling for the camera. I still got some great shots of our pretty girl. Take 3 will be trying to take pictures of both Mason and Micah at the pumpkin patch. Not sure I will be able to pull that off by myself.
