Newborn Pictures...

It is true that you don't take as many pictures with your second child. It is not because I don't want to, I don't have time! When Mason was born and sleeping all the time, I could take and edit all the pictures I wanted. Now when Micah is asleep that means I get quality time with Mason, and if they are both asleep, I am blessed with a nap! I have had pictures I haven't edited for a week, and that never happens. These were taken about 10 days ago, and I haven't had a chance to post them.

Micah and Mason are doing great. Mason still adores his sister. He literally gives her a 100 kisses a day. He says, " I love you Micah!" and "Your so pretty!" Our biggest struggle is keeping him away from her when she is sleeping. He wants to kiss her all the time, and can sometime get rough because he is so excited! I pray that he will always adore his sister as he does now!

Micah went to the doctor today for her 2 week check up. She is already 9 lbs 1 oz. Needless to say, she likes to eat. The doctor says she looks great. She is one sweet little girl. I left out some of my favorites for her birth announcement:-)

I hope to post some more pictures soon. I use to always work and do pictures at night, but these days I am so worn out I have to go to bed. I know this period will be short lived so I might be behind in blogging for a while, and have some catching up to do!

Brotherly Love..

Mason LOVES his sister! A lot of our friends told us their 1st child ignored the 2nd when they brought their new sibling home, however, we have had just the opposite. Mason has always loved babies, and now that he has his own baby sister he can't stay away from her. If he doesn't see her, he says, "Where did Baby Micah went?" He wants to give her kisses, and touch her head constantly. We really have to watch him because he can get so excited, he is too rough. He is also a very big help. He will run and get me a diaper, or find her a paci.

We ran into Babies R Us to pick up a couple of things, and I was looking at something. I turned around and Mason had about 5 things in the basket and said, " These are for Baby Micah." We have one sweet little boy!

Easter Egg Hunt...

Yesterday we ventured out as a family of 4 to one of our friends house who was having an Easter celebration and egg hunt for the kids. We knew how much Mason would love it! He hunted eggs for a couple of minutes, lost interest, and wanted to go slide.

Pink and bows...

Day 2 has been good. A relaxing day enjoying our little girl. I am recovering well, and we will be going home tomorrow morning. Micah is doing wonderful. She is nursing well, and slept a lot today.

I can't wait to take her newborn pictures! I am quite limited in what I can do on a hospital bed. I tried to capture her red hair, cute bows, and adorable monogrammed burp cloths. My nurse asked me today if everything I have for Micah is pink, and I said that is really your only option. Almost everything for little girls is pink. Good thing that is one of my favorite colors!

1st visit....

Pictures of everyone's first visit with Micah. Mason gave his little sister a kiss, and was then more interested in pressing buttons on mommy's bed. A hospital room is not an ideal place for a 2 year old. Looking forward to how he will respond to her at home!

Birth Story..

Everyone is right when they say that no two pregnancies or deliveries are the same! The experience with Micah was completely different than Mason. The last two weeks have been tough with pressure and contractions so I gave in to being induced. We went in on Monday night to start the process. To make a long experience short, Micah's heart rate would drop every time I had a contraction so I had to sit up with oxygen once the labor process started. Once I got ready to deliver I quickly realized the epideral was not working every where which made the final stages of delivery very painful!!! I only pushed for 15 minutes because I was in so much pain and just wanted to get it over with.

When Micah came out the umbilical cord was very tight around her neck and she was purple. They quickly realized she had fluid in her lungs and that her heart rate kept dropping. I could tell something was wrong but they would not really give me an answer and just kept saying she was fine until they brought in a NICU doctor.

They explained she had fluid in her lungs and she needed to be monitored in the NICU. One of the ways this pregnancy was different was that I was really worried that she would not be healthy, and telling me they were taking her to the NICU in a sense confirmed my worries. My hormones were already messed up, but this didn't help. I was so worried, but Craig was amazing and completely believed she would be ok. Craig was so strong, and encouraging and helped me believe she would be fine.

I prayed and prayed, and asked many of our friends to pray. They finally brought her back to us about 4:00 ( I had her at 12:15), and said she was doing great. A tremendous relief and answer to prayer! I was also worried she wouldn't nurse because I couldn't feed her right away, but she has no problems in area of nursing. Another answer to prayer! A stressful and difficult time especially after a challenging delivery, but God was faithful and saw us through. I know it could have been so much worse, and that so many people have much more difficult situations than that. We are so blessed!

These are from when she was first born, and then they took her to the NICU so these are all we got for th 1st couple of hours.

Micah Reece Bellamy...

Micah is finally here. I know everyone is eagerly anticipating pictures, so I will post a couple tonight and update everything tomorrow. We are blessed! Our precious little angel joined us at 12:15pm weighing 7lb 14oz and 19 3/4 inches long. After a short stay in the NICU with fluid in her lungs and dropping heart rate, we were able to cherish our little girl. God answered our prayers and she is now doing great!
