5:01am & Texas Weather...

For the last couple of days, Mason's little internal alarm clock has gone off at 5:01 every morning. Now, we have been very blessed from the beginning as he has always been a good sleeper, but I really wish he would go back to waking up at 6 or 6:30. He eats and goes back to bed, where as for me I don't have enough time to go back to sleep. I know the solution which is go to bed earlier, but every night I think my prayers will be answered and he will wake up at 6:00!

Texas weather = unpredictable! On Friday, when I went to go pick up Mason at "school" ( sounds better than daycare) he had on some pants that he didn't have on when he left the house. I got the point... I needed to dress him warmer. I didn't think it was that cold outside, but I realize now that for a little baby it was. This weekend I got him plenty of comfortable pants for the fall and winter.

On Monday, it was about 95 degrees, so naturally I think Tuesday will be the same. I dressed him in one of his short sleeve onesies and he was ready to go. Craig took him to school, and I didn't know until I stepped outside that it was 58 degrees! I decided I will dress him in pants from now on, and we can take them off if it is hot. Here is Mason ready to go to school this morning in his little pants. He is days away from crawling, and he loves his toys!

Almost #34...

This summer I bought Mason the cutest basketball jersey and shorts. I was looking for #34 (which was my basketball number) but settled for #33. I couldn't pass up the photo opportunity. Here is our little basketball player...

Mason's first basketball.
I even taught him how to dribble between his legs. Starting with his right hand...
and under his leg. He is so proud of himself.

Applesauce...

A couple of years ago, we were in Canada with one of my good friends Julie and her family. We were out and her son who was around 3 at the time asked if he could jump in a big puddle of water. I thought for sure she would say no, but much to my surprise Julie said yes. I remember her saying, " Sometimes you have to let boys be boys." She said we are going home, he is going to take a bath any way, and him jumping around in the puddle isn't going to hurt anything. I learned a valuable lesson that day. Even though Mason is still so young, I often find myself thinking of opportunities to let him be a boy.

On Saturday, he kept trying to grab his applesauce. He was about to have a bath, so I thought this would be a great chance to let him make a mess. He had so much fun! Thanks Julie for the great lesson years ago!

Change...

We are continually amazed at how quickly Mason is growing up. Everyone tells you that they grow up so fast, and it is so true. On Saturday morning ( you know the day we usually all sleep late:-) at 5:57am we were woken up to a sweet tune from Mason's mobile. He has figured out how to turn it on himself, and play in the mornings. I went in to get him and he was as happy as can be. I feed him and luckily for all of us we went back to bed for a while.

I wanted to see how much Mason has grown up from March to September. The first time Mason was in his swing he didn't like it much, but now he loves it. He usually sits in his swing when he gets to watch Baby Einstein.
Luckily for all of us, it has gotten a little cooler which has helped our allergies. This morning I had Mason dressed in his little basketball jersey and shorts. I remembered it was a little cooler outside, so I grabbed his Adidas jacket. It is a little big, but still adorable.... and yes, I did add socks after the picture.

What a week...

Today has been a great day to end a difficult week. Mason is finally getting better. We were up all night last Saturday night, took him to the doctor Sunday morning, Craig stayed home with him on Monday, and have spent the week trying to get him better. He still has a little bit of a runny nose, but is definitely back to his old self. We had so much fun today!

On Thursday we swiched day care sites. Long story short there were too many kids in his class and have been concerned that he has been sick for over 3 weeks. We had the opportunity to move to another site within the same day care. Mason transitioned great! He loves his teachers, and it is a really good situation for us. A farther drive every day but it is definitely worth it!

We decided to stay home this weekend as we want Mason to completely get better. We had a laid back day, and loved every minute of it. Mason is so fun. He is sitting up, and just loves to play. He is going to be crawling before we know it. I haven't had a chance to take many pictures this week, but here are a couple from today.

Mason loves his letters from his activity mat. As you can see, he tries to eat them.

Mason came home from his first day at his new day care doing this. He thinks it is so funny especially when daddy does it back.

Morgan and Mason..

This weekend we got to see our sweet friends Philip, Liah, and Morgan. We had fun watching football, and Mason was loved on by Liah's family. Mason and Morgan were so cute together.

Unfortunately Mason is sick again. His runny nose is now draining into his throat and he can't breath. We were up most of the night Saturday, and went to the doctor early Sunday morning. We were worried it was in his chest, luckily it was not! They prescribed him a decongestant. He is doing better, but not quite a 100%. Daddy stayed home with him today!

Following in his mommy's footsteps...
Can I have my Dr.Pepper back?
I got it!
Mason forgot about the Dr. Pepper and went for her dress.
He hasn't learned that he can't pick up little girls' dresses.

6 month check-up...

Mason went to the doctor this morning for his 6 month well-baby appointment. Everything looked great except he lost 4 ounces in 2 weeks from being sick. Today he was 18lb 9oz and was 18lbs 13 oz 2 weeks ago. He was 27 1/2 inches which is still in the 75% percentile.

He can almost sit up by himself ( and stay), he would much rather be on his stomach, when he wants a toy or something out of reach he figures out a way to get it, one of his favorite things to get is the remote ( he knows exactly where it is when I am feeding him!), he laughs and squeals all the time, he likes to sleep on his stomach or his side, he tries to grab the water out of the faucet when taking a bath, he puts everything in his mouth and he will give hugs and kisses!

You would never know Mason just had his shots an hour before these first couple were taken. I just wanted to stay and play with him all day! Even though I only worked half a day, I still didn't want to leave this happy boy!

Craig was checking his e-mail and Mason wanted to join in. He would get mad when Craig would try to pull him away. This little guy wants to start way to early!
He is concentrating and trying not to make a mistake.
Mason was sitting in his bouncy while we were eating dinner, and just having the best time. Yes, it is probably too small for him, but he just loves it. You can see why it is so hard to leave this sweet smile every day!!!
