7 Weeks Old...

It is hard to believe Mason is already 7 weeks old. He is so fun! Here are a couple of pictures I took this morning in my favorite outfit. I wanted to make sure I captured his blue eyes before they change!

Carjacker...

On Sunday, after the baby dedication, everyone came over for lunch to celebrate Mason. They even brought all the food, we just had it at our house. We were in the kitchen, and we here Drew ( who is 4) in the other room ask Craig, "What is a carjacker?" Somehow Joey and Craig had started talking about robbers which somehow led to carjackers. This started a lengthy conversation between Craig and Drew about good guys and bad guys. It is amazing how smart he is and the questions he asks. This is what we get to look forward to! Here is a sweet picture Mason, Drew, and Craig and some more of our little guy!

Burleson Family...

Here are some pictures of Mason's baby dedication. Since our family lives so far away, our Burleson family stood with us as we commited to raising our son in the Lord. We realize that God has blessed us with such a beautiful little angel, and it is our prayer that we seek the Lord as we raise him and that he would grow up and be a follower of Christ. Our precious little guy slept through the whole thing. We will have to tell him about it someday!

Smile...

Mason is such a happy baby. He loves to smile and "talk". This is one of my favorite pictures as Mason is smiling at his daddy. When Craig comes home from work, Mason just smiles at him. He definitely misses his daddy everyday!

A Good Idea But....

I had this great idea of some pictures I wanted to take of Mason. However, the pictures didn't turn out quite like had envisioned them in my mind. While it only took a couple of minutes, Mason didn't like my idea as well. I didn't realize until I picked him up that he had pee'd all over himself. By the end he definitely wanted to be done. As always, his many facial expressions make them precious. I was also able to do some fun things with the editing.

We have this wonderful picture in Mason's room that I wanted to capture with him in it. However, because it was the middle of the day there is a reflection in the picture that I didn't expect and ruins the picture.

He is getting so long!

This is the "OK Mom! Can we please be done now?" look...
This is the " I am done!" look..

Sleep...

For the past two days all Mason has done is sleep. He would eat and then go right back to sleep for a couple of hours only to wake up and do it again. By the second day we started to get worried because we could not keep him up. We did some research to be reminded that he was going through his six week growth spurt. We continue to be amazed at how big he is getting. Here is Mason the last couple of days...

These are the cutest socks in the world! They look like little shoes.
I was so happy that Mason finally liked his swing, and even feel asleep in it. However, I soon realized that I shouldn't be too excited, for the past two days he would sleep anywhere. But he still looks precious!

Mason and Meredith...

Finally! After 5 weeks and countless attempts, we finally got Meredith to hold Mason. Not because she thinks Mason is so cute and she wants to love on him, but it was a chance to have a post on the blog. We probably won't get another picture of her and Mason until he is about two. We will cherish this one...
Hannah, on the other hand, loves Mason. She came home on Friday from OU, and wanted us to bring him over so she could see him. Mason loves you to Hannah:-)!

The Happiest Baby on The Block...

While I was pregnant, a friend recommended that I read this book called " The Happiest Baby on the Block." It was definitely the most beneficial book that I read. It basically teaches you how to soothe your baby within minutes by mimicing the babies environment while they were in your womb. It is amazing! I can soothe Mason so quickly if he gets fussy where other wise I really wouldn't know what to do. A reason I believe we get plenty of sleep besides the fact that he is a good baby!

The first step is to swaddle. As I have explained before, Mason loves to be swaddled and can't sleep without being all wraped up. The other day I unwrapped Mason from his swaddle blanket to see if he would stay asleep without it. Within a minute of taking pictures, his hands and arms were in a number of different positions. He definitely wakes himself. It was quite entertaining!
