This year we really wanted to make sure Mason starts to understand what Christmas is all about. Yes, Santa and presents are fun, but we want our kids to understand that Christmas is all about celebrating the birth of Christ.
The night before we were going to leave for the Valley, we were going to have a birthday party for Jesus. Mason was so excited and all he talked about was making an orange birthday cake for Jesus. However, he woke up from his nap with a 102.9 fever so the birthday party was obviously postponed. He threw up three times and at 2:00am his fever broke and he was fine. He made sure to tell me that we had to have a birthday party before we left. So at 9:30 in the morning, we made a birthday cake and had a birthday party for Jesus. That is life with little ones! A bright orange cake and 4 birthday candles for each member of our family. It will be fun to see how we add to this every year.
